Trusted resource, market savvy, and top producers might be just a few of the descriptors that come to mind when one talks about McGeough Lamacchia Realty, Inc. That, and they’re mobile.
Started in 2004, McGeough Lamacchia Realty, Inc. is a small, but mighty team covering parts of the northeastern United States. In late 2012, the team launched their mobile application, designed by Smarter Agent. The app, provides agents and consumers access to current market information from their mobile device.
We recently had the chance to catch up with Anthony Lamacchia, the Lamacchia half of McGeough Lamacchia Realty, Inc., to talk to him about his real estate brand and how mobile technology is helping his team to be #1 in Massachusetts since 2010.
When asked what makes the McGeough Lamacchia brand unique, Anthony told us about their robust media presence, which includes television interviews on the current housing market. Local media look to him as a trusted resource on the real estate market in eastern and central Massachusetts and southern New Hampshire.
What also makes them unique, according to Anthony, is his brand’s sales volume per agent. In 2012, the team sold 501 homes with about 20 agents. Anthony says “that’s more sales per agent than anyone.” We say, well done!
When asked about the local market, Anthony said “it’s heating up.” This is especially true the closer you get to Boston. Since the McGeough Lamacchia Realty team are experts on the local market, we asked them to tell us a bit about today’s buyers and sellers. To that, Anthony says “sellers are getting happier as the market has improved.” He quickly added that with that improvement it’s “amazing how fast some sellers already think their homes are worth some crazy numbers.” Today’s buyers are excited by low interest rates and home prices, “but frustrated by the lack of inventory.”
We were excited to talk to Anthony about McGeough Lamacchia Realty’s mobile app. We wanted to hear how they decided to start offering the app and what kind of feedback he’s been getting. Anthony knows that more and more buyers and sellers are turning to the internet for real estate information. With that in mind, he recently put together a video explaining why simply putting a listing in the MLS, or running an ad in the newspaper, are no longer enough to get a home sold. According to Anthony their mobile app is “a cutting edge tool” that provides their agents and their clients with an incredible amount of information about the market, right on their mobile device. In his opinion, “it’s still too underutilized by agents and consumers.” For agents who have been using and sharing the app, the feedback has been “very good.”
Since many Smarter Agent clients want to know how best to share and promote their app to their agents and clients, we asked Anthony how they’ve had success. McGeough Lamacchia Realty’s Internet Marketing Coordinator, Marguerite McGrail told us that they’ve shared their app via ads on television, email blasts, a press release, posts to their social media and the McGeough Lamacchia Realty, Inc. website, which features a full tutorial on how to use the app. To date, they’ve had 1,440 downloads!
When asked to pull out his crystal ball and predict what is going to happen in real estate in the next year, Anthony told us “values will continue to improve and inventory will increase which will balance the market out more.”
Let’s hope that crystal ball shows 2013 being even better than 2012 for the McGeough Lamacchia team!
